About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, where you will play a key role in driving operational excellence through process analysis, design, and implementation of improvements. As an integral member of our project management team, you will lead and support improvement projects from design through implementation, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and evaluate existing processes to identify inefficiencies
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste
- Conduct time studies, simulations, and data analysis to support decision-making
- Design integrated systems for production, logistics, and resource management
- Develop layouts for manufacturing facilities and warehouses to maximize efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Lead and support improvement projects from design through implementation
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to management
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence
- Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions
- Train and support staff in new processes and procedures
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with process analysis, design, and implementation of improvements
- Knowledge of systems design and optimization principles
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong project management skills
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- Relevant experience in industrial engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Certification in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies (e.g. Black Belt, Green Belt)
