About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Technical Sales Manager to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing strong relationships with key industrial clients, OEMs, and EPC companies. Your technical expertise and commercial leadership skills will enable you to manage complex B2B sales cycles involving engineered products, solutions, and high-value projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Grow new business vs existing account expansion
- Improve profitability and margin
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industrial clients, OEMs, contractors, consulting engineers, distributors, and EPC companies
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in target industries (manufacturing, mining, energy, automotive, food & beverage, utilities, OEMs, engineering firms)
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skills development plans for the sales team
- Develop and implement annual sales strategies aligned with company targets and operational capabilities
- Present technical solutions to clients, including product demonstrations and site visits
- Support the creation of proposals, quotations, and engineered solutions
- Collaborate with Finance on credit control, payment terms, and contract negotiations
- Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, pipelines, and orders
Requirements
- Mechanical or Electrical OR electromechanical experience
- Matric / Grade 12
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
- National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or relate)
- Business Management / Sales Management qualification advantageous
- Minimum 3–7 years as a Sales Manager Supervisory OR Role with working experience in an engineering manufacturing company
Salary & Benefits
- Basic salary: R40 000 to R60 000 CTC per month
- Commission on top (salary package is dependent on skills, qualifications, and years of relevant experience only)
- Discretionary annual performance bonus
