About the Role

A leading Furniture Manufacturer, situated in the South of Johannesburg, is seeking an Assistant/Junior HR Manager to assist with daily HR and Payroll tasks, supporting the HR Executive in managing the company’s human resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding procedures
  • Act as a primary contact for staff regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Advise line managers on end-to-end disciplinary processes, from drafting formal warnings to preparing for hearings
  • Ensure all disciplinary actions align with the LRA and internal governance
  • Maintain rigorous records of all disciplinary proceedings and case documentation
  • Support the HR Executive at CCMA hearings or bargaining council meetings when required
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly and weekly payroll inputs, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and overtime
  • Investigate and resolve payroll-related queries from staff and management
  • Administer medical aid, provident fund, and other employee benefits
  • Serve on the Employment Equity meeting and assist with annual report submissions
  • Serve on the Training Committee and assist with the annual reporting of WSP/ATR
  • Serve on the Culture Committee and be an ambassador of the vision and mission of the company
