About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Technical Support Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our IT support function, you will be responsible for providing first and second-line support for in-house applications and infrastructure, as well as managing and troubleshooting issues within Microsoft Azure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line support for in-house applications and infrastructure
- Manage and troubleshoot issues within Microsoft Azure environments
- Perform routine server support and maintenance tasks
- Log, manage, and resolve tickets using a ticket management system
- Deliver professional client-facing support via Microsoft Teams or telephone
- Communicate technical solutions clearly and patiently to non-technical users
- Prioritize and resolve incidents within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
- Document support procedures and contribute to knowledge base articles
Requirements
- 0-2 years experience in an IT support role
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services (Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts)
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, VPNs, Firewalls)
- Ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues effectively
- Basic PowerShell scripting for automation or troubleshooting
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments
- Familiarity with ticket management systems (e.g., Jira)
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience working in small, agile IT teams
- Exposure to monitoring or remote support tools
