Non-negotiable requirements
- Hands-on experience of Logistics in Road, Sea or Air Freight (Combination of these is preferable) from an Agri OR Feed OR Animal Health company not a freight forwarder or logistics company
- Working knowledge of incoterms, export documentation, managing transporters and related.
- Degree / Diploma in Logistics and / or Supply Chain Management
- MUST live within 20km from Bryanston
- Have own transport
- Good job tenure is a must (job hopping is a big dealbreaker for the client)
- Competencies include Detail Oriented, creative problem solver, meticulous planner, excellent written and verbal communication, customer centricity, self-driven and motivated to succeed, takes ownership, accountable, manages stress/pressure, professional, high level of integrity.
- All work-related written correspondence and verbal communications must be professionally presented and in grammatically correct English.
Responsibilities: (Suitable applicants MUST have experience in the duties below)
- Controlling export logistics for shipments, predominately via road freight with opportunity for air and sea freight movements
- Preparing freight documents
- Liaising with State Veterinarians for inspections and health certificates when applicable
- Scheduling Intertek, SGS, and related inspections when and where required
- Negotiating freight rates with preferred transporters
- Accurate consolidation of goods for shipment, including domestic movements
- Coordinating upliftment of product
- Working with and taking instruction from work colleges /sales agents /buyers to facilitate the logistics process
- Controlling import logistics for shipments via sea freight
- Liaising with freight forwarders, suppliers, and warehouse to ensure product movements progress smoothly and timely.
- Liaising with state veterinary officials for import permits, health certificates, and/or goods in transit permits
- Maintenance of all related transactional, and logistical documentation
- Maintenance of all transactional and logistical information in a format that is easily interpreted by you and any other team member
- Record all data within agreed process and structure
- Regular communication to customers on progress of deliveries
- Effective Management of customer expectations
- Timely feedback on any changes to schedules
- Escalation of any critical issues/customer concerns
