About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team as a remote full-time employee. As a key member of our fast-paced healthcare operations team, you will be responsible for supporting US-based healthcare workflows by retrieving and managing medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and collaborating with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact healthcare providers to request medical records and supporting documentation
  • Follow up with hospitals, clinics, and provider offices regarding request status
  • Verify receipt of authorizations and required documentation
  • Track, update, and manage open record requests within internal systems
  • Document all communications accurately and consistently
  • Identify delays or issues and escalate when necessary
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Data Entry, Operations, and Review

Requirements

  • 1–2 years experience in healthcare administration, medical records, customer service, or ROI-related work
  • Experience communicating with hospitals, clinics, or provider offices (preferred)
  • Familiarity with medical records workflows or Release of Information processes (strong advantage)
