Job Summary
Key Objectives:
- Ensure the integrity and reliability of the ICT infrastructure.
- Support the delivery of ICT services and contribute to the vision of IT development.
- Advise senior management on emerging technologies and future ICT trends.
- Contribute to the continued development of IT processes and procedures.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Server+
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years in IT infrastructure management, system administration, or a related field.
- Extensive hands-on experience with server hardware and operating systems (Linux, Windows Server, Blades, Standalone).
- Proven experience in setting up and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Expertise in firewall management (Fortigate) and network technologies (LAN, WAN, SAN, VPN).
- Proficient with virtualization technologies (VMware, Veeam) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Solid experience with IT Security protocols (FortiGate Firewall, Kaspersky, MFA, Bitlocker, ZScaler).
- Familiar with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, IP addressing, and subnetting.
- Proficiency in managing cloud infrastructure and implementing IT automation.
- Expertise in security protocols, VPNs, and encryption techniques.
- Experience in PowerShell scripting and ITSM principles (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
- Knowledge of Windows Server Administration (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory) and Linux OS management.
- Strong experience with DNS management, VPN management, and VOIP/Hosted PBX systems.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Network and Infrastructure Management: Ensure the network infrastructure, servers, and ICT systems are running optimally.
- Client Support: Efficiently manage and resolve ICT support requests.
- Planning and Development: Identify future upgrades and developments, cost projects, and liaise with external suppliers.
- System Design and Administration: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all ICT systems, including network, storage, and backups.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure all systems adhere to security protocols and data protection regulations, including compliance with POPI Act.
- Disaster Recovery and Contingency Planning: Manage backup systems, disaster recovery protocols, and work with vendors for hardware repairs and system upgrades.
- Hardware & Software Management: Oversee the installation and maintenance of computer hardware, networks, and software.
- Technical Support: Provide day-to-day maintenance of the Group`s IT systems, user management, and troubleshooting.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to implement new projects and enhancements.
- Documentation & Auditing: Maintain an inventory of all IT hardware, software, and licenses; ensure compliance with audit processes.
