About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager with hands-on exposure to South African investment management or asset management operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fund structures, investment mandates, administrators, custodians and regulatory obligations, and be able to turn risk insight into practical, well-embedded controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and enhance the Operational Risk Management Framework, including risk registers, RCSAs and KRIs
- Lead incident, breach and remediation processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action
- Review investment management agreements, SLAs and outsourcing contracts from an operational risk perspective
- Conduct operational due diligence on key service providers
- Prepare risk dashboards and committee reporting
- Champion a high-risk in the business
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in asset management, investment administration or pension fund administration
- Proven experience with operational risk frameworks, incident management, governance and regulatory compliance
- Relevant degree in Finance, Risk, Business, Law or related field; postgrad or professional certifications (FRM, CFA, CIA, CISA) advantageous
