About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Quality Assessor – North for our citrus export operations in Nelspruit, South Africa. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of fruit quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assessments on citrus produce at all stages of the supply chain
  • Develop and implement quality management systems to prevent post-harvest disorders
  • Collaborate with farmers, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure compliance with export requirements
  • Provide training and support to farmers and suppliers on phytosanitary protocols and fruit quality standards
  • Utilize Dipar or similar QC platforms to monitor and report on quality issues
  • Travel to farms, packing houses, and other facilities as required

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Quality Control or relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in exporting citrus products
  • Qualification in Food Safety and Quality Management
  • Training in agricultural produce export requirements (including fruit quality and special market phytosanitary protocols)
  • Strong knowledge of citrus production and post-harvest management

Qualifications

  • Formal education or certification in a relevant field is an asset
