About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef De Partie to join our prestigious Luxury Restaurant in Johannesburg. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dishes and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring food preparation and service meet restaurant standards
- Assist in the development and execution of new menu items
- Maintain high levels of quality, presentation, and portion control
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards
- Supervise and support junior kitchen staff where necessary
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, professional, and efficient working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef De Partie within a fine dining or luxury restaurant environment
- Recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for delivering dishes to the highest standard
- Ability to manage a section independently and maintain consistency during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (e.g. National Diploma in Culinary Arts)
Salary & Benefits
- R8,000 – R9,000 per month (negotiable depending on experience)
