Johannesburg: Pharmacist Assistant

Our client, a leading compounding pharmacy based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, is seeking a motivated and skilled Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant to join their team. About the role: As a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant , you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of pharmacy operations in a compounding environment, ensuring compliance with Pharmacy Law and Good Pharmacy Practice. You will play a key role in prescription processing, medication preparation, patient support, and interdepartmental coordination. Key Responsibilities: Review, interpret, and process prescriptions received via email, phone, and in person Prepare, dispense, and invoice medication orders accurately Provide patients with guidance on proper medication use and support healthcare professionals as required Answer phones, manage queries, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues Support other departments operationally as required Uphold the organisations values, culture, and professional standards Maintain harmonious relationships with colleagues and ensure good interdepartmental communication Participate in stock takes and maintain accurate records of inventory and equipment Attend training sessions to update product knowledge Perform any other duties as instructed by the Line Manager or Managing Director Minimum requirements: Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) Fluent in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written) Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience in compounding or manufacturing pharmaceutical products is a distinct advantage Knowledge of Good Pharmacy Practice, record-keeping, and inventory management Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities Working Hours : Monday – Friday, 08:30-17:00 Remuneration : Basic Salary: R20,000-R25,000 (negotiable depending on experience) Provident Fund Gap Cover Global Educator If you do not hear from us within 2 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful
