About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for overseeing all engineering and technical aspects of projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and engineering, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications
- Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
- Perform overall quality control of work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Requirements
- Relevant technical postgraduate qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management (Good to have)
- 6+ years of experience in a Project Management environment
- 6+ years of experience in an Operational environment
- Experience in Project Engineering
- Construction Management (Advantage)
- Procurement process
- Drawing up Scope of Work documents and technical specifications
- Managing suppliers and fabricators
