About the Role
We are seeking an innovative Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and construction of various projects in the physically and naturally built environment. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from conception through to completion, and make a lasting positive impact on society.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, design, develop, create, and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely, and sustainable manner.
- Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings, and others).
- Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications.
- Assess potential risks, materials, and costs.
- Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
- Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
- Handle the resulting structures and services for use.
- Monitor progress and compile reports on project status.
- Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials.
- Comply with guidelines and regulations, including permits, safety, etc., and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.
Requirements
- 8-12 years of experience in the field of civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
- Preferably with experience in water pipelines or pump stations.
Qualifications
No formal education or certifications are specified, but PrEng registration with ECSA is required.
