About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Tester to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our quality assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by identifying and mitigating defects throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in BRD and FSD reviews to identify testable requirements and documentation gaps
- Draft detailed test scenarios and prepare comprehensive test cases
- Review peer test assets to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Set up test data and perform environment readiness checks
- Execute manual test cases across functional, integration, regression, and UAT phases
- Provide comprehensive and auditable test evidence
- Log, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps
- Contribute to go/no-go release decisions and sign-off processes
- Perform post-implementation validation including smoke and sanity testing
- Support hypercare activities by monitoring production incidents and retesting patches
- Participate in retrospectives and suggest improvements to QA processes
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification
- 3 years of testing experience across multiple applications
- Up-to-date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies
- Experience working within Agile frameworks
- Familiarity with integration and regression testing
- Experience using test management tools such as JIRA
- Familiarity with basic SQL queries for data validation
- Exposure to performance testing and security testing practices
