Job Description

Job Purpose: To ensure that all products meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards by implementing and maintaining quality control systems, conducting inspections, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the factory. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Manage, train, and discipline staff in line with quality and safety standards Oversee overall quality assurance and quality control processes within the factory Implement and maintain company policies and procedures to ensure efficient facility operations Ensure compliance with OHS, FSSC 22000, and customer-specific requirements (e.g., KFC standards) Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance reports (NCRs) and implement corrective actions Attend and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly meetings relating to production, health & safety, and food safety Conduct stocktaking activities when required Maintain accurate daily administrative records using systems such as Shopware and SHERQX Manage and monitor pest control systems within the factory Conduct and assist with internal audits Perform metal detector checks and investigate any potential failures Carry out daily quality checks including: Foreign matter control Weight and scale verification Traceability records Hygiene inspections of staff and facilities Ensure high standards of housekeeping across the facility Act as a Safety Representative when required Ensure full compliance with SHERQ legal and regulatory requirements Minimum Requirements: Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Quality Management, Food Technology, or similar field Certification in Food Safety (e.g., HACCP, FSSC 22000) is advantageous Experience: Minimum 23 years experience in a quality control/assurance role within a manufacturing or food production environment Experience with audits, inspections, and compliance systems Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong administrative and reporting skills Proficiency in quality systems and software tools Team leadership and training ability Working Conditions: Factory/production environmentMay require shift work and occasional overtimeExposure to production processes and food handling environments
