About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Sales Representative to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for driving sales growth by promoting our food products and packaging solutions to customers in the Food Manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will have strong customer engagement and sales negotiation skills, with experience selling food raw material ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue sales opportunities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Achieve sales targets
- Call on customers to promote confectionery and powdered drink products as well as pet food products into the market
- Present and promote products to prospective customers
- Manage client accounts
- Negotiate sales contracts
- Provide excellent customer service
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met
- Drive sales growth by promoting company food products and packaging solutions
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements with customers
- Develop in-depth knowledge of food products, ingredients, packaging materials, and applications
- Advise customers on suitable product selections, packaging solutions, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to align customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and territory performance reviews
Requirements
- Relevant educational qualification in Marketing, Business, Food Sciences, or a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience selling food raw material ingredients into the Food Manufacturing industries (preferred)
- Strong customer engagement and client relationship building skills
- Sales negotiation skills
- Ability to meet sales targets
- Analytical skills for market trend analysis and effective sales strategy development
- Good organisational skills for managing client accounts
