About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Pastry Chef to join our luxury hospitality establishment in Pilanesberg, North West. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the pastry kitchen and driving the creation of innovative desserts and pastries that exceed our guests’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the pastry kitchen and daily operations
  • Create and maintain high-end desserts, pastries, and baked goods
  • Design and update dessert menus and offerings
  • Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Manage stock, ordering, and ingredient sourcing
  • Train and develop pastry team members
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning
  • Ensure efficient kitchen workflow and production planning

Requirements

  • RSA ID and legal residence essential
  • Relevant Pastry / Culinary qualification
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Head Pastry Chef in a luxury hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert presentation
  • Ability to create innovative menus and seasonal offerings
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and creativity
  • Good organisational and stock control skills
