Employer Description A reputable reinsurance company located in Johannesburg North. Job Description Our client has a vacancy in their Facultative Underwriting Unit which is an administrative and support function. The bread and butter of the role will be to assist the current Fac underwriting team with their admin to give them the opportunity to obtain effective relief from their admin tasks and focus more energy on growing the business, servicing clients and contributing towards the companys strategy. The role is suited to a graduate (or someone that is a career starter) that may wish to grow into an underwriter at some point, but happy to build the foundational skillset required first. The growth and development in the role will be basic admin tasks related to the role, learning processes and assisting with the documentation, record keeping and other support tasks. The role will grow over time but we do need someone who has the patience to learn the building blocks first. You will be responsible for: Compliant Risk Administration : Manage declensions, new risks and renewals within client online systems/ software; ensure accurate cancellation of risks and verify premium payments. Responsible for accurate internal use of systems and adhere to established procedures for audit purposes. Data Quality Management : Data check, clean and capture; Maintain data in the accumulation control system; Complete the risk registration process, submit to underwriters to price. Run exception reports to check data quality and correct data where required. Document Management and Record-keeping Administration: Accurate filing and record-keeping of all documentation within scope of control including but not limited to the risk submission, perils pricing report. Assist with archiving on the relevant and document management system as per relevant guidelines where needed. Client Broker Communication : Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of signed policy slips and endorsements. Receive and check details recorded on the Facultative contract as it relates to exposures etc.; Liaise with relevant underwriter(s) to determine if the contract can be signed. Capture information accurately upon registration and/ or update details as per subsequent endorsement. Accounting Support : Serve as point of contact for the Technical Accounting team regarding queries related to technical entries on premiums, claims, commissions or similar. Qualifications Undergraduate qualification in Business Administration, Economics, or related fields (a focus on economic subjects is an advantage) Skills The successful candidate will have: Minimum 0 3 years working experience within an administration environment Ability to pay attention to detail for accurate work Contribute effectively towards team and organizational outcomes; Demonstrate accountability for deliverables within scope of work and able to adhere to deadlines. Ability to critically assess and review own work done and work independently Analytical thinking and ability to grasp numerical concepts Advantageous: Reinsurance; Facultative underwriting administration would be an advantage Computer skills Intermediate level MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP or similar system, electronic filing system or document management system an advantage.
