Qualifications and Experience Required: Matric plus NQF Level 7 Qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 6-8 years experience in solution design or architecture. Proven experience in delivering end-to-end technology solutions Exposure to system integration, data modelling, and application design Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms, including public, private, and hybrid clouds, as well as various cloud services and technologies Ability to design and implement cloud-based architectures that meet the organisation’s requirements in terms of security, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness Strong technical background in areas such as networking, databases, and security, as well as experience with cloud platforms and services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure Ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the implementation and maintenance of cloud-based solutions 3 years experience in large-scale digital transformation or modernisation initiatives Background in cloud adoption, enterprise platforms, and cybersecurity considerations Experience working in agile delivery environments and innovation-focused teams Role Description: Solutions Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain architectural blueprints that outline the structure and behaviour of technology solutions Analyse business requirements and design technology solutions that are fit-for-purpose Design and create scalable, secure, and reliable solution blueprints, models, and technical specifications that meet business requirements and align with the company’s technology strategy Ensure designs adhere to enterprise standards, security, and compliance requirements Integration and Interoperability: Oversee the implementation of technology solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of solutions Design solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and platforms Ensure interoperability between applications, data, and infrastructure layers Support rationalisation and simplification of the technology landscape Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders, to align technical solutions with business goals Performance and Optimisation: Monitor and analyse the performance of implemented solutions Identify areas for improvement and optimise systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency Implement best practices for performance tuning and optimisation Technical Guidance and Support: Provide expertise and direction to development, testing, and operations teams Resolve architectural or design issues during project delivery Act as a subject matter expert on specific technologies and solution domains Governance & Standards Compliance: Ensure all solutions conform to enterprise architecture, IT governance standards, security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements Participate in solution review boards and provide evidence-based recommendations Maintain documentation and traceability of architecture decisions Innovation & Emerging Technology: Evaluate and apply emerging technologies within solution design Participate in innovation pilots or proof-of-concepts with squads Recommend new approaches that improve business efficiency and user experience Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand needs and constraints Translate technical designs into business-friendly language Build trust by balancing business priorities with technical feasibility
