About the Role
The Stores Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our company’s stores, including stock management, dispatch, and warehouse duties. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to company policies, and the ability to assist both in the store and workshop as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock & Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels and perform stock-taking activities.
- Picking and issuing items for the Workshop as needed.
- Assist in rectifying stock variances and ensure accurate data entry into computer systems.
- Labelling, marking, and organizing items for easy identification.
- Prepare for and participate in the annual stock take (overtime required; non-remunerated).
- Dispatch & Packing: Assist with packing and deliveries, ensuring all goods are securely packaged to prevent damage.
- Receiving & Inspection: Check goods received and goods dispatched, both locally and from overseas.
- Workshop & Equipment Support: Assist in the Workshop when necessary. Operate equipment and machines safely, including forklifts and other store machinery.
- Housekeeping & Compliance: Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of stores and building.
Requirements
- Previous experience in stores, warehousing, or inventory management is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of stock control, picking, packing, and dispatch procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in checking and recording stock.
- Ability to safely operate store equipment, including forklifts.
- Physically fit to handle bulky items and general warehouse duties.
