About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client in the Engineering industry is urgently seeking a Rock Engineer with specialized integrated geotechnical expertise to join their team in Kathu, Southern Kalahari. The successful candidate will provide critical support to the mine’s operations and contribute to ensuring structural stability of residue deposits, waste dumps, and stockpiles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized integrated geotechnical expertise to the mine
- Manage geotechnical investigations and ensure structural stability of residue deposits, waste dumps, and stockpiles
- Implement business intelligence and trend analysis within function
- Plan, implement, control, and monitor approved changes
- Input into functional planning and demonstrate awareness of macro and microeconomic factors
- Manage people development and identify training gaps
- Oversee internal and external relations management
- Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality (SHERQ) and related compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science / BTech in Rock Engineering / Geology / Mining
- Certificate in Rock Mechanics (Rock Engineering)
- A minimum of seven (7) years operational Rock Engineering experience
- Three (3) years operational middle management experience
- Valid Code CI driver’s license
- Legal appointment 2.13.1 as per the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Accreditation and registration with SANIRE South African National Institute of Rock Engineering
