About the Role
The Commercial Vehicle Qualified Diesel Technician is a key member of our maintenance department, responsible for ensuring the highest level of vehicle performance and safety. This role requires a skilled technician with a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Determines vehicle condition through conducting inspections and tests
- Repairs vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems
- Complies with regulations of vehicle requirements by testing engine and safety
- Maintains vehicle records by documenting services and repairs
- Keeps workshop equipment in working order, following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
- Limit costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
- Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job
- Provides technical guidance / support for other technicians in service department
- Maintains a daily flow of quality and accurate written records and other paperwork for invoices record purposes
Requirements
- Qualified Diesel Technician
- Minimum of 3-5 years truck maintenance & repair experience as a diesel technician in a commercial vehicle dealership environment
- Experience on various brands
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and understand the operation of Mechanical, Electrical equipment and to repair the same
