About the Role

The General Manager: Sales and Operations is a critical leadership position responsible for driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and service delivery in our fast-paced SME logistics environment. As a highly hands-on leader, you will be accountable for the end-to-end performance of the business, with full responsibility for private pillar sales growth, operational efficiency, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives
  • Optimize fleet and warehouse operations to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Manage independent contractors and implement practical systems, controls, and policies to support scalable growth
  • Provide commercial oversight to ensure that sales commitments are operationally achievable, profitable, and delivered consistently
  • Build competent, accountable sales and operations teams and put in place practical structures, processes, and controls to support sustainable growth

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain
  • Demonstrated leadership across both sales and operations
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing operational teams
  • Proven experience in an SME or entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong exposure to fleet, inventory, warehousing, and contractor management
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
  • Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s licence with access to a dedicated personal vehicle
