About the Role
Olifants River Lodge is a mixed-use accommodation group working towards greater accountability and local impact. We are seeking a reliable and accountable Waitron to join our team at Olifants River Lodge, managed by Dream Hotels & Resorts. As part of our team, you will be dedicated to being reliable and accountable, fostering empathy to understand others’ feelings and collaboratively find solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that tables are set correctly, and that they have candles in the evening, as well as plants / flowers, clean cutlery and glasses.
- Responsible for ensuring that all dirty cutlery, crockery, ashtrays, bottles and glasses are removed from the table before that guest is seated
- Always maintaining a neat appearance and high standard of personal hygiene
- Ensuring that the restaurant is always tidy
- Ensure to offer the guests something to drink once they have seated themselves down
- Take orders from guests, obtain and serve drinks
- ALWAYS repeat guests order to ensure it is correct
- Ensure the food that is plated coincides with the guest’s order
- Ensuring the food that is plated is presentable (no spillage on plate, no oil, no red juice from meats, garnishes etc.)
- Present guest with their bill / payment, and return correct monetary change where necessary
- Ensure that you are present in and around the bar when not in service to help guests
- Ensures all slips are signed and handed to reception for filing
- Ensures every drink served is accounted for by either POS system or the issue book
- Ensures all meals that are not included are posted to the guest’s account
- Ensure fridges are always well stocked and cleaned
- Ensure cushions are laid out and taken in at night/if raining
- Arrange the self-service, salad and buffet area.
- Assisting F&B managers/assistants with checking deliveries and unpacking deliveries
- Ensure that you are familiar and adhere with all Health and Safety Regulations
- Promotes customer satisfaction through a high standard of efficiency and courtesy
- Always thank the guest for patronage
Requirements
- Grade 12
- 1-2 years’ experience in front of house experience
- 2 years’ of customer service
- Apex experience would be beneficial
