Job Description
The Onsite ICT Systems Specialist will be responsible for supporting the clients ICT infrastructure transition, ensuring system efficiency, knowledge transfer, risk mitigation, warranty preservation, and handling specialized tasks as outlined in the project scope. The role requires a hands-on approach to maintain peak performance and system integrity during the transition from a capital works-funded implementation to a sustainable operational phase.
Key responsibilities:
1.Maximizing System Efficiency:
• Ensure ICT infrastructure operates at peak performance.
• Optimize system functionality adhering to best practices.
• Preserve system warranties.
2. Knowledge Transfer and Training:
• Provide comprehensive training to the client’s operational teams.
• Conduct tailored training sessions and troubleshooting techniques specific to installed ICT systems.
3. Risk Mitigation and Quality Assurance:
• Utilize specialized knowledge and access to proprietary tools for preventative maintenance.
• Reduce the risk of system failures and ensure continuity.
4. Warranty Preservation:
• Ensure maintenance and upgrades comply with warranty terms and vendor service agreements.
• Protect the client’s investments and avoid potential disputes.
5. Specialized Tasks:
• Handle demanding tasks leveraging labour and expertise.
• Facilitate the client’s teams in effectively managing the operational phase.
Key requirements:
• Extron AV Associate (non-negotiable)
• Extron Certificates (non-negotiable)
• Higher level Extron certifications are beneficial.
• Senior Certificate (essential)
The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:
• Proven experience in ICT systems management, preferably in a higher education environment.
• Strong knowledge of structured data cabling, CCTV, access control/burglar alarm systems, and Audio-
• Visual (AV) systems.
• Demonstrated ability in conducting training sessions and knowledge transfer.
• Experience in risk mitigation, quality assurance, and preventative maintenance.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements regarding warranties and vendor agreements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle specialized tasks efficiently.
