About the Role

MSP Staffing LTD is seeking a highly skilled Strata Control Officer to join our team at a reputable mine in Northwest. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of strata control systems, working closely with other departments to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of strata control systems
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for equipment and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of strata control systems
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff members as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of system performance and maintenance activities

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with numeracy and literacy or equivalent NQF qualification
  • Chamber of Mines Certificate in Strata Control (Metalliferous Mines)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within a Rock Engineering Department in a Hard Rock underground mine
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelors in Geology/ Bachelors in Mining) advantageous
  • Gold mining experience advantageous
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills
