About the Role
The Drill Supervisor position at Bilnor Staffing Solutions is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced surface mining professional to join our team. We are seeking a qualified candidate with a strong background in iron ore drilling, automated drill rig operation, and blast design software.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control drilling operations to ensure safe and efficient blasting practices
- Supervise automated drill rigs and interpret outputs from blast design software
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control checks on blasting operations
- Maintain accurate records of training, production targets, and QA/QC adherence
- Lead and mentor junior personnel in the drilling team
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of specific surface mining experience in iron ore drilling
- Valid Surface Blasting Ticket
- Digital literacy in utilizing automated drill rigs and interpreting blast design software outputs
- Production experience and exploratory experience required
- Experience with L8 & RC drills, sampling, and staking a plus
- Valid Code B Driver’s License
- Legally appointed competent person/statutory supervisor status
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) / N3
