About the Role

We are seeking a Supervisor to join our team in Pietermaritzburg, responsible for overseeing daily activities on the production/shop floor and ensuring smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in supervisory roles, with a strong focus on staff management, quality control, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of production/shop floor staff and ensure smooth workflow
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure employees understand their responsibilities
• Manage attendance, punctuality, discipline, and provide basic staff supervision
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and support to the team
• Oversee production targets and ensure work is completed on time and efficiently
• Enforce quality control standards and inspect products before approval or dispatch
• Monitor usage of materials, reduce waste, and report stock shortages timeously
• Compile daily/weekly reports on production, staff performance, and operational issues
• Enforce health and safety regulations and ensure proper use of PPE in the workplace
• Resolve operational issues, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in supervisory roles
• Strong focus on staff management and quality control
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
• Relevant education or training (if applicable)
