About the Role
The Warehouse Manager will oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of inventory, logistics, and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch functions
- Optimise warehouse layout, storage systems and space utilisation (bulk storage, shelving, picking zones)
- Implement and manage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including barcoding and stock tracking
- Ensure accurate inventory control through cycle counts, stock audits, and system reconciliations
- Plan and coordinate region-based picking schedules to ensure timely dispatch of goods
- Manage dispatch operations, including coordination of cross-border shipments
- Liaise with logistics/shipping teams to provide accurate weight and volume data
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff to ensure productivity and operational efficiency
- Monitor and report on warehouse KPIs, identifying areas for improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and operational performance
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company policies
- Collaborate with management on warehouse scalability and integration with manufacturing processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Warehouse Management role
- Experience within distribution, hardware, or FMCG environments
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Experience with multi-unit inventory management (units, cartons, pallets, etc.)
- Proven leadership experience managing warehouse teams in a fast-paced environment.
Advantageous
- Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools
- Knowledge of cross-border logistics (Namibia, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho)
- Exposure to manufacturing or production environments
- Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Strong process improvement and systems optimisation mindset.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
