About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Bodyshop Maintenance Technician to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and handle all electrical equipment in the workshop to reduce downtime and ensure normal operation of electrical equipment
- Complete all TPM related activities assigned by maintenance supervisor in due time
- Attend and repair breakdowns and equipment in due time
- Ensure that the facility’s electrical installations comply with the required regulations
- Support the installation and assembly of new equipment
- Perform daily management tasks such as work logs, fault logs, equipment history records, maintenance records, etc.
- Regularly backup and manage important data, procedures, and parameters of equipment (PC, Drives, Robotics, Inverter, PLC etc.)
- Take an active part in identifying and maintaining plant health and safety
- Lead hourly workers and act as a multi-skilled worker (who understands both electrical systems and programming as well as mechanical systems)
- Analyze, find fault, find, repair and optimize sealer, welding, laser, and bolting technology equipment failure to ensure achievement of quality requirements and efficient production process
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics qualification
- Trade-tested Electrician (Advantageous)
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in the automotive industry (preferred)
