About the Role
The Lead Software Engineer role at our renowned company is a critical position that requires exceptional technical leadership, architecture expertise, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive the development and delivery of our platforms. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for taking technical ownership of our platforms, guiding engineers on architecture and standards, and acting as the primary technical interface between engineering, business, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve our platforms’ technical architecture using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) principles.
- Define bounded contexts, aggregates, domain events, and service boundaries.
- Ensure correct application of event streaming, messaging patterns, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
- Review and approve architectural designs, pull requests, and major technical decisions.
- Guide refactoring of legacy or transitional components into well-structured domains.
- Provide technical oversight of the Vue.js SPA front-end.
- Drive front-end standards, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with UX and product stakeholders to ensure usable and scalable UI patterns.
Requirements
- Strong experience in software development, preferably in a lead or senior engineer role.
- In-depth knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Vue.js SPA front-end development.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, patterns, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Relevant certifications or training in software development, architecture, or a related field.
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: R1 200 000 – R1 800 000 per annum, depending on experience.
