This is a hands-on leadership position with no supervisory layer between the Production Manager and the production team meaning strong technical acumen and the ability to engage directly with setters and operators is essential. Non-Negotiable Requirements: Minimum 5 years experience in a plastic injection moulding factory Proven ability to manage high-volume, high-variety manufacturing environments Strong technical knowledge must be able to understand and explain technical issues to production teams (especially setters) Minimum 3 years experience in a production management or similar senior role South African Citizen with a Code 08 drivers license Technical qualification (N6, National Diploma, or Degree in Production/Operations Management, Engineering, or Industrial Technology). Key Responsibilities As the Production Manager , you will be responsible for ensuring that all production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet both company and customer requirements. You will oversee the daily operations, ensuring production objectives, targets, and quality standards are met. Providing leadership when the General Manager is unavailable, ensuring smooth operations. Analyzing performance data and preparing reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). What We Are Looking For Qualifications : Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate . Degree or Diploma in Manufacturing/Engineering or a related field would be advantageous. Experience : At least 5 years experience in injection moulding machine setting and optimization. At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in plastics manufacturing or similar industries is preferred. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint . Experience with databases and management data reporting. Strong knowledge of production processes , quality management systems (QMS) , and environmental management systems (EMS) . Experience in problem-solving techniques and identifying process improvements. Behavioral Skills : Strong leadership and people management skills.
