Job Summary

This hands-on leadership role requires residency in Port Elizabeth or nearby areas and extensive experience in injection moulding. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end production efficiency, compliance, and team leadership, ensuring that output, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. Essential Qualifications, Experience & Technical Skills Must reside in Port Elizabeth or the surrounding areas Minimum 5 years experience in injection moulding machine setting and optimisation At least 3 years supervisory experience in a plastics manufacturing environment Technical Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Production, or related field Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; database/reporting systems advantageous Understanding of QMS, EMS, ISO 9001:2015, and production KPIs South African citizen with a valid Code 08 drivers licence Key Responsibilities Manage daily production operations and workforce across shifts Oversee injection moulding processes and ancillary systems to meet performance targets Drive compliance with QMS, EMS, and HSE standards; halt production if standards are compromised Monitor and improve metrics (scrap% %, cycle time, absenteeism, output) Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem-solving and product optimisation Maintain documentation, training alignment, and SOP adherence Participate in internal and external audits, customer reviews, and production planning

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities: Management of subordinates in line with designated KPIs, work instructions/procedures and quality standards Full responsibility for plant manufacturing activities including safety. Manage and control facility, materials, methods, quality and equipment. Accountable for the efficient, safe and profitable operation and production of the plant at a minimum cost Compiling budget for Production unit (including CAPEX requests and prioritization/control of spend) Management and oversight of production planning to ensure maximum utilization of plant resources to best effect whilst maintaining customer deliverables and quality standards Ensure efficient use and management of human resources. Implementation of LEAN Manufacturing principles & a Continuous Improvement mindset in the plant Facilitate and oversee daily / weekly / monthly reporting Job Requirements: Diploma n Production Management or mechanical/Industrial/Chemical Engineering Degree Recognized Trade (advantageous) Electro Coating (advantageous) Minimum of 10 years experience in a management position in a manufacturing concern A working knowledge of IATF16949 Quality Management System. Knowledge and experience of LEAN manufacturing concepts and processes Ability to read and understand technical drawings Sound knowledge of a fully integrated IT system, preferably SYSPRO & Shopware Computer literacy – Advanced (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) A comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects of a business.

Job Summary

Based Port Elizabeth. Highly successful and small Company that is consistantly growing and which specialises in Injection Moulding Manufacturing has a challenging, demanding and rewarding opening in its business. The factory also has a small Assembly Plant, in addition to supplying its manufactured products to a secure and expanding Customer base. There are approximately 80 staff in the factory that the Production Manager will be responsible for and lead which includes Operators and Setters. There are in the region of 200 SKUs which are manufactured and naturally, the settings have to be adjusted accordingly for each SKU. The Production Manager will form part of the Management Team consisting of a Financial Manager, Engineering Manager, Quality Manager and MRP/Logistics Manager, all of whom report into the General Manager of the Company (who is equal to the Managing Director). The factory/plant operates 6 days per week and 24 hours per day. It should be noted that a number of the Companys services are outsourced including Payroll and HR. As the Company is smallish, all management positions are very hands-on and responsibilities are often shared with other Managers in the Management Team as and when the need arises. For example, the Production Manager may need to be involved in ad hoc responsibilities like HR, Maintenance etc. By way of summary, the Production Manager co-ordinates all the activities required in production, advises on the performance of production, creates data and various production reports. In addition, to ensure processes and products conform to Company and Customer requirements, ensures production objectives as well as targets are achieved and motivates quality improvement of products/processes and that quality standards are met. Key performance areas, inter alia, include: Overall to maximise all process equipment, personnel, supplying Customers with quality products and on time delivery. To ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, Health and Safety and compliance with Enviromental Management System generally. Co-ordinate and manage all Production Staff which includes daily meetings with injection moulding machine Setters, motivating and problem solving, upskilling via training. Setting production objectives and ensuring targets are achieved (scrap %, absenteeism %, cycle time standards etc.) Ensure Company profitability including budgetary control issues and that the production budget is met. In this regard, control expenditure and motivate when required. Furthermore, ensure that all products are manufactured timeously and meets Customer quality and delivery requirements. Be involved in general IR issues including disciplinaries, counselling, conflict resolution, attending CCMA when required and other related activities (although the Company is not Unionised). It should be noted that the Company has never had any industrial action. There is the use of an External Labour Consultancy as and when required. Requirements: Relevant qualification including Plastics Certificate and/or similar plus relevant injection moulding machine experience. This is a prerequisite for this role which includes machine setting and optimisation. Previous work experience in a plastics manufacturing environment. Superior interpersonal skills and experience as the Production Manager will liaise and interact with Customers, Departmental Managers, Warehouse Personnel. Ability to effectively manage, motivate, lead and upskill Subordinates. Sound experience in compilation of data as well as producing management/production reports. Therefore, sound skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint and preferably experience with Databases. In addition, candidate should be accessable, approachable, principled and disciplined.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities As the Production Manager , you will be responsible for ensuring that all production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet both company and customer requirements. You will oversee the daily operations, ensuring production objectives, targets, and quality standards are met. Your key responsibilities will include: Coordinating and managing all production staff to ensure timely and high-quality production. Conducting regular meetings with machine setters to resolve issues, share information, and improve performance. Setting production targets (e.g., scrap %, absenteeism %, cycle time) and ensuring they are consistently met. Managing production schedules and resources to optimize the use of equipment and personnel. Ensuring all production work instructions (including flow charts, setting sheets, inspection instructions, etc.) are up to date and followed. Overseeing the ordering of raw materials and ensuring they are available when needed. Maintaining adherence to quality management and environmental systems, as well as ensuring workplace safety. Identifying and implementing continuous improvements in production processes, equipment, and tooling. Conducting periodic reviews to ensure production activities align with procedures and work instructions. Collaborating with the quality department to review and address non-conforming products and implement corrective actions. Providing leadership when the General Manager is unavailable, ensuring smooth operations. Analyzing performance data and preparing reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensuring compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards. Supervising and training production staff, identifying skills gaps, and ensuring the team is well-equipped to meet production goals. What We Are Looking For Qualifications : Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate . Degree or Diploma in Manufacturing/Engineering or a related field would be advantageous. Experience : At least 5 years experience in injection moulding machine setting and optimization. At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in plastics manufacturing or similar industries is preferred. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint . Experience with databases and management data reporting. Strong knowledge of production processes , quality management systems (QMS) , and environmental management systems (EMS) . Experience in problem-solving techniques and identifying process improvements. Behavioral Skills : Strong leadership and people management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail and high organizational skills. Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key Attributes Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on driving team performance and quality. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess production performance and implement improvements. Highly proactive, results-driven, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. A strong focus on health and safety, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Ability to handle after-hours calls and production-related emergencies as needed. Additional Information Work Environment : High-pressure, fast-paced, with diverse products and potential after-hours call-outs. Some exposure to lead-based products, chemicals, and cleaning agents. Important Contacts : Collaboration with customers, department managers, machine setters, warehouse personnel, and operators. Driving License : A Code 08 Drivers License is required.
