About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our client, a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of the quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of measurement and inspection across all production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, introduce, monitor and maintain measuring systems to provide a quality and proactive service as measured against national and international standards.
- Analyse, initiate, co-ordinate and implement corrective action to qualify discrepancies reported to the department to ensure timely and efficient service to customers within acceptable quality standards.
- Maintain measuring equipment in your area to adhere to International standards.
- Assist, train and supervise Trainees, Junior Technicians and new employees to develop a strong team of metrology technicians who will provide a world-class measuring service.
- Prepare and supply measurement and SPC data for Management decisions.
- Dimensional calibration of Company fixture, gauges, measuring and torque testing instruments and maintain its history to guarantee accuracy throughout its entire service life.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience within the automotive environment.
- At least 2 years working experience with parts, assemblies alignment, set-up and Dimensional Evaluation.
- National Diploma/NN Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Trade Test Certificate Tool Maker.
- Good knowledge & understanding of Metrology Symbols & Elements (VIM).
- Practical working experience of Dimensional Measuring Equipment & Instruments.
- 3D interpretation of CAD models and technical drawings.
Qualifications
National Diploma/NN Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
