Job Title: Senior Roof Truss Designer
Job Overview:
A Senior Roof Truss Designer is responsible for the advanced design, analysis, and optimization of roof truss systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Ensuring that all truss designs are structurally sound, cost-effective, and compliant with relevant building codes and industry standards. The Senior Designer works closely with architects, engineers, sales teams, and production staff to deliver accurate designs, resolve technical challenges, and support project execution from concept through to manufacturing and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design complex roof truss systems using specialized design software
- Review architectural drawings, engineering specifications, and project requirements
- Ensure all designs comply with local building regulations and safety standards
- Perform structural calculations and load analysis
- Optimize designs for material efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and internal teams to resolve design queries
- Prepare detailed layout drawings, cutting lists, and production documentation
- Support the sales team with technical input and project feasibility assessments
- Conduct design checks and approvals prior to manufacturing
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in roof truss design (senior-level experience preferred)
- Proficiency in truss design software ( MiTek, Multinail, Pamir)
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and timber design
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Roof Truss Industry experience of at least 2-3 years.
