Job Summary
Position Available: YARD SUPERVISOR (Transport Company)
Requirements:
– Code 14 license for at least 5 years (previous Code 14 driver advantage)
– Healthy and Energetic Male Candidate
– Computer literate
– Management skills / Management experience
– Previous Yard supervisor skills / Previous experience essential
– Mechanically orientated
Duties (including but not limited to):
– Oversee daily operations in the yard
– Safety compliance
– Smooth coordination between departments
– Ensure the yard is organised and accessible for customers, staff, drivers and trucks / trailers.
– Ensuring employees follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work environment in every department.
– Ensure trucks are equipped with correct equipment for securing loads
– Driver’s testing of all new applicants
– Strong organisational and planning skills
– Leadership and communication skills
– Problem-solving skills
– Optimising fleet scheduling
– Willingness to work overtime if needed
– Ability to work independently while still maintaining to clearly communicate with management.
– Ability to work under pressure
– Honest and reliable
– Actively supervise and monitor operational activities within the yard
– Ensuring compliance with transportation laws and regulations including safety protocols.
– Ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment within the yard.
– General daily functions and duties.
