Job Description

Hire Resolve is assisting a leading consulting firm in the civil engineering industry in their search for an Engineering Draughtsperson to join their team in Pretoria. Dedicated to delivering high-quality designs and ensuring the successful completion of projects that positively impact communities, our client’s team consists of talented professionals who are committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Create detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
Interpret and translate engineering sketches, notes, and specifications into accurate technical drawings.
Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Review and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback from engineers and clients.
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
Assist with site visits and surveys as needed to gather information for drawings and designs.
Work closely with the drafting team to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
Stay updated on advancements in CAD software and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma or degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Engineering Draughtsman in the civil consulting industry.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings and plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of civil engineering principles, terminology, and construction practices.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., SANS, ISO, etc.).
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with GIS software and 3D modelling tools is a plus.
