We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will play a key role in the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems and components for advanced defence projects. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for defence applications. Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings (using tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX). Conduct structural and thermal analysis using FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS). Support design for manufacture (DFM), cost, and reliability considerations. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers. Participate in design reviews, prototyping, and testing activities. Ensure all designs comply with relevant military and industry standards. Requirements Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the defence, aerospace, or high-reliability sectors. Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and engineering drawing standards. Experience with FEA and mechanical simulation tools. Understanding of materials, tolerancing, and mechanical fabrication processes. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Mechanical Design Engineer: Military Vehicles Pretoria Minimum requirements and experience: BEng or BSc (Mechanical Engineering) or Masters OR National Diploma or BTech (Mechanical Engineering) 5-7 years of working experience in automotive engineering or the mechanical structures industry. Must have proven ability to lead a team. Previous experience in a military vehicle design environment would be advantageous. SolidWorks or related 3D CAD Package Responsibilities: Will be responsible for working on all product stages from R&D to design and manufacturing, through to installation and final commissioning.
