About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, disciplined, and service-oriented Corporate Chef to join our Head Office Catering team in Midrand. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective meals, managing the in-house restaurant and coffee shop, coordinating corporate catering services, and maintaining exceptional hygiene, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and construct weekly breakfast and lunch menus for staff
- Design customised menus for corporate events and meetings
- Ensure menus are balanced, nutritious, and cost-effective
- Adjust menu pricing in line with profitability targets
- Obtain financial approval before implementing menu changes
- Prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and special events
- Ensure correct portioning and creative presentation
- Meet all dietary and special requirements where possible
- Ensure food is prepared and served on schedule
- Maintain safe food heating and reheating standards
- Deliver high-quality food and beverages to CPI staff
- Maintain respectful and professional customer interactions
- Create a welcoming and comfortable dining environment
- Manage and maintain the coffee station and equipment
- Verify booking forms and dietary requirements
- Plan and prepare catering for functions and training sessions
- Set up boardrooms and service stations professionally
- Maintain the copper boardroom coffee station
- Order food, beverages, and coffee shop stock in advance
- Schedule and verify deliveries
- Conduct weekly stock checks and monthly stocktakes
- Monitor expiry dates and reduce wastage
- Manage departmental budgets and costings
- Build strong supplier relationships
- Track daily food and beverage orders
- Prepare month-end billing and payment requests
- Submit supplier invoices timeously
- Monitor fridge and freezer temperatures
- Capture and manage coffee shop sales on OMNI System
- Maintain filing and administrative records
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Relevant qualification in Catering or Hospitality Management
- Proven experience in a corporate or private chef environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
