Our client is searching for a SAICA Trainee Accountant to join their team in Menlo Park.

SAICA Trainee Accountant. Financial benefits:
- SAICA Trainee Accountant Starting salary: R16,000 per month, R192,000 per annum, if B degree is complete, negotiable if B degree not yet completed.
- iStudy bursary up to a maximum of R51,300 per calendar year for study purposes:
- Subject to performance terms and conditions.
- Candidates will be required to refund the bursary to the company should their training contract be terminated without running the full term of the training contract, subject to SAICA allowances for a reduction in the term of the training contract.
- Participation in the company’s performance bonus scheme: Details to be provided at the commencement of the SAICA training contract. iv. Study leave for your exam preparation and support.

Study requirement:
- At an advanced stage of completion of a SAICA-accredited bachelors degree, or
- Qualify to do a conversion course if the degree is not SAICA-accredited, or
- Completion of a SAICA-accredited bachelors degree.
Trainee Accountant must enroll as follows:
- Enrol to continue with the SAICA-accredited bachelors studies, or
- Enrol for an SSAICA-accredited postgraduate degree, or
- Enrol for an SSAICA-accredited bridging course
Work requirement:
The following candidates are not eligible:
- Candidates who are already serving as a SAICA trainee accountant, unless the trainee is relocating to Pretoria and the period served under the existing training contract is less than 9 months.
- Candidates who have been in full-time employment for more than 2 years.
The following candidates are eligible and may apply:
- Candidates who have worked part-time or during holidays whilst studying.
- Candidates who are already serving as a SAICA trainee accountant, provided the trainee is relocating to Pretoria and the period of the existing training contract is less than 9 months.
- Candidates who have been in full-time employment for less than 2 years.
- Candidates who are SAIPA trainees and who wish to convert to a SAICA training contract.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Working under the guidance of experienced Chartered Accountants / SAIPA Professional Accountants / Registered Auditors.
- Hands-on working environment with active participation in all aspects of rendering services to clients.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns.
- Conducting audits and assurance engagements in compliance with auditing standards.
- Participating in client meetings and liaising with clients on financial matters.
- Developing a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and auditing procedures.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Working collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality services to clients.
- Actively pursuing the completion of a SAICA-accredited bachelors degree if the degree is not yet completed.
- Duties and competencies as set out in the SAICA Training Regulations.
All applicants must meet all the following requirements:
- Must be proficient in English – read, write and speak, and basic Afrikaans.
- Must agree to complete the SAICA training contract at the company, for the Trainee\ Accountant to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (SA).
- Study requirement:
- At an advanced stage of completion of a SAICA-accredited bachelors degree, or
- Qualify to do a conversion course if the degree is not SAICA-accredited, or
- Completion of a SAICA-accredited bachelors degree.
- Trainee Accountant must enroll as follows:
- Enrol to continue with the SSAICA-accredited bachelors studies, or
- Enrol for an SSAICA-accredited postgraduate degree, or
- Enrol for an SSAICA-accredited bridging course.
- Strong academic record: Applicants with a poor academic record will not be considered.
- Must be fully computer literate: MS Office.
- Valid SA drivers licence.
- Resident in Pretoria or willing to relocate to Pretoria, or be within reasonable travelling distance of Pretoria for daily commuting to the office in Menlo Park, Pretoria.
