About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines, developing data processing solutions using Python and advanced SQL, and ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Develop data processing solutions using Python and advanced SQL
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across platforms
- Support and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Create and maintain data models and analytics-ready schemas
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data engineering challenges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
- 24 years experience in a Data Engineering or similar role
- Strong proficiency in Python and advanced SQL
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development
- Experience with tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, or similar
- Exposure to Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or ClickHouse
