About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of high-voltage infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced engineering professionals in a dynamic and solutions-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop transmission and distribution line projects using PLS-CADD
- Perform route selection, line profiling, tower spotting, and clearance analysis
- Conduct structural and civil design calculations for overhead line infrastructure
- Prepare technical drawings, reports, specifications, and construction documentation
- Coordinate with electrical, structural, and project engineering teams
- Ensure that designs comply with Eskom, IEC, and relevant international standards
- Assist with site inspections, feasibility studies, and project implementation support
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
- Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction
Requirements
- BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering
- 3 years experience in transmission or distribution line engineering
- Proficient in PLS-CADD and related transmission line design tools
- Experience with overhead line design and utility infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of relevant design standards and engineering practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
