Job Summary

Employer Description A well established law firm located in the east of Pretoria. Job Description Our client seeks a competent Compliance Assistant to assist the compliance department with administrative tasks. The successful candidate will report to the Compliance Consultant and ultimately, the firms Directors. This candidate would be primarily based in the Pretoria office, but would be required to travel to other branches to conduct compliance administrative tasks and assessments. A valid drivers licence is a requirement for this role. You will be responsible for: Administrative Support Maintain accurate records, including compliance registers. Schedule and coordinate training and meetings for the Compliance Officer. Prepare and distribute communication and reports. Assisting the compliance officer in managing the compliance portfolio with admin work (including but not limited to emails and other correspondence). Creating and updating Excel and Word documents. Conduct monitoring reviews as assigned and promptly provide detailed reports in various departments. To provide compliance support to the business through responding to queries. Reviewing compliance materials for all areas of the business, including training. Assist in preparing for and responding to routine reviews/audits. Type/transcribe correspondence as directed. Perform routine compliance tasks concerning documentation, reporting and reviewing of client files. Schedule inductions for new employee training for all new employees/consultants and continuing education programs for employees. Monitor and track compliance deadlines. Ensure all necessary documentation is up to date and stored correctly. Drafting of reports. Assisting in preparing for inspections. Qualifications Legal post-matric qualification or compliance-related qualification Skills The successful candidate will have: 1-2 years experience with basic knowledge of compliance functions. Previous experience in an assistant or PA role, compliance-related role (preferred). Any experience in HR departments would be advantageous. Understanding of compliance functions such as FICA/ KYC processes. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Good understanding of compliance standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Valid Drivers License (essential), Legal post-matric qualification or compliance-related qualification Benefits There are no fixed additional benefits, but a discretionary annual bonus may be awarded based on company performance and individual merit. Permanent employees are also covered under a 100% company-funded group benefit scheme, with benefits aligned to their salary bracket.
