About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Technician to join our team at UD Trucks Pretoria East. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for repairing trucks according to dealer/distributor standards and specifications in a productive manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all kinds of service operations, defined assembly operations, and maintenance repairs with the highest level of quality and efficiency.
- Establish parts required for service/repair to be performed and ensure correct parts are ordered.
- Report to Service Foreman promptly on any additional work required.
- Obtain authorization prior to carrying out any additional work.
- Advise Management prior to fitting any major parts outside the norm for routine servicing/repair.
- Obtain technical information from Service Foreman on problem jobs.
- Adhere strictly to technical specifications as laid down by manufacturer, or as instructed by Management.
- Adhere to laid down workshop policies and procedures.
- Note the description of all work performed on the back of Repair Order if required.
- Place all used parts in plastic bag, except oil & fuel filters, and place on passenger floor.
- All warranty replaced parts to be tagged according to laid down rules, and handed to Parts department.
- Ensure all oils and parts used are booked out on Repair Order.
- Keep vehicle as clean as possible, and use all protective items supplied.
- Maintain work bay as safe, clean, and tidy.
- Report any faulty and/or broken equipment to management.
- Use special tools and equipment with utmost care.
Requirements
- Matric/NQF Level 4 equivalent Diesel Truck Technician Qualification
- Three-year experience working on UD Trucks
- Clear Criminal Record
- Valid Drivers License C1, EC (an added advantage)
