About the Role
Hire Resolve, a leading industrial air systems engineering company, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Application Engineer to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of qualified mechanical engineers and be involved in ventilation and air handling projects from concept through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret client specifications, tender documents, and technical requirements
- Design and select appropriate ventilation and fan systems
- Prepare technical proposals, equipment schedules, and detailed costings
- Engage with clients to clarify requirements and present technical solutions
- Liaise with draughting, production, and installation teams to ensure practical and cost-effective designs
- Provide commissioning support and technical troubleshooting when required
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Attend site visits and client meetings as required
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail
Requirements
- BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering
- 23 years experience in a mechanical engineering role
- Experience in ventilation, HVAC, fan systems, or industrial air movement applications advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commercial awareness and cost-conscious mindset
- Self-motivated, structured, and methodical approach to work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans advantageous
