About the Role

As a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer at Exigent Environmentals, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with ISO14001 standards and promoting a safety-first culture within our operations. You will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental policies, standards, and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental harm.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, standards, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training to employees and contractors.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills.
• Liaise with management, employees, contractors, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
• Promote environmental protection practices, including waste management and pollution control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant HSE experience (industry-dependent).
• Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
