About the Role
We are urgently seeking a qualified Millwright/ Electrician with experience in the concrete or cement industry for a short-term contract based in Roodepoort. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, and equipment optimization in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on plant equipment
- Conduct fault finding and repairs on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, and control panels
- Support production teams with breakdown response and preventative maintenance
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment status
- Assist with shutdowns, installations, and commissioning as needed
Requirements
- Trade Test (Red Seal) Millwright/ Electrician essential
- Minimum 35 years experience in heavy industrial environments
- Preferably experience in concrete, cement products, or related manufacturing sectors
- Knowledge of Overhead Crane Maintenance and Electrical Methods
- In-depth understanding of electrical maintenance techniques, including troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of electrical components
- Knowledge of VFDs and PLCs
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills (electrical & mechanical)
- Must be able to work at heights
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Own reliable transport to and from site
