Job Description

Overview
A growing organisation within the renewable energy and construction sector is seeking a
commercially minded finance professional to join its executive team.
This role is suited to a Senior Financial Manager ready to step into a CFO-level position,
rather than a long-standing career CFO. Executive leadership will provide strategic
guidance and mentorship.

The successful candidate will be responsible for financial leadership, governance, and
oversight across the business, supporting strategic growth, project profitability, and
long-term sustainability.

Duties
Provide strategic financial input to support business growth and expansion
Oversee the full finance function, including reporting, controls, and compliance
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements
Implement and maintain financial governance and internal control frameworks
Oversee financial performance of construction and project-based environments
Drive cost control and profitability across projects
Support commercial decision-making with financial analysis
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders
Contribute to risk management and financial strategy
Lead and mentor the finance team

Requirements
Chartered Accountant CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification (essential)
1015+ years of progressive finance experience
Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, or
equivalent)
Significant experience within construction, EPC, infrastructure, renewable
energy, or similar project-driven sectors
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects valued between
R50 million and R1 billion
Strong commercial acumen and project finance expertise

Preferences
Senior Financial Manager stepping into a CFO role
Experience in project-based environments
Experience in high-growth or scaling businesses
Experience in renewable energy, construction, or EPC project environments
Experience managing funding, project finance, or capital investment
programmes
Mandarin language proficiency (advantageous but not essential)
