About the Role

The Administration Controller role at Edgray Distributors (Pty) Ltd t/a JUMBO is a critical position that requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage the day-to-day operations of the store. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the store, including cash handling, administration, housekeeping, security, customer services, and people management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cash: Ensure daily banking is done in conjunction with the Store Manager as per procedures, and all cash ups balance with banking.
  • Administration: Control standard of Administration and Procedures in the Store, enforce disciplines to maintain standards, prepare requisitions for stock replenishment, and ensure daily morning files are completed.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness in back office and Cash Desk area, including returning merchandise to the floor.
  • Security/Risk: Manage security of back office and front cash desk, ensure tags are secured on merchandise, and prevent shrinkage by implementing company processes and procedures.
  • Customer Services: Train staff in customer service at the cash desk, assist customers with enquiries and complaints, and apply customer service principles daily.
  • People Management: Manage performance and development of cash desk staff, enforce disciplinary action when necessary, and manage time and attendance of staff.

Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • NQF 5 Certificate in Retail/Business Administration
  • Computer Literate: Word and Excel
  • 2+ years in relevant sales/cashier environment
