About the Role
The Artisan Grade 2 Instrument Mechanic role is a critical position in our operations, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our industrial instrumentation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance on field instrumentation
- Perform fault finding, repairs, and calibration on: Level instruments, Flow instruments, Pressure instruments, Temperature instruments, Control valves, and actuators
- Assist with commissioning and testing of instrumentation systems
- Work with DCS systems and support control system troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with hazardous area standards and safe work practices
- Complete job cards, reports, calibration certificates, and maintenance documentation
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure tools/equipment are kept in good condition
- Adhere to all site safety requirements, procedures, and policies
- Work independently and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Trade Test in Instrumentation or NQF Level 4 Process Instrumentation and Control
- Minimum 35 years of experience in industrial instrumentation
- Knowledge of DCS systems and field instrumentation
- Strong understanding of: Level, Flow, Pressure, Temperature instrumentation, Valves, and control loops
- Familiarity with hazardous area standards and safety procedures
Qualifications
- PTW (Permit to Work) training (advantageous)
