About Us:
KBK Engineers is a dynamic civil engineering consulting firm with offices located across South Africa. We are seeking a highly skilled and professionally registered Civil Design Engineer with a focus on water distribution and bulk water supply systems. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering. This role involves planning, design, project management, implementation and delivery of water infrastructure projects that ensure reliable and sustainable water services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and manage water infrastructure projects, including bulk pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, pressure management systems, and reticulation networks.
- Lead the technical review and approval of engineering designs and feasibility studies for water supply projects.
- Oversee the implementation of capital works programs and maintenance strategies for water infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., planning, finance) and external stakeholders (e.g., consultants, contractors, government agencies).
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and network analysis to optimize system performance and identify future needs.
- Prepare technical reports, project proposals, procurement documents, and council submissions.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, and national water regulations, safety standards, and engineering codes.
- Experience with the NWA and NEMA will be beneficial.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists.
- Conduct field inspections, troubleshoot operational issues, and support commissioning of new infrastructure.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (a relevant Post graduate degree is advantageous).
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng. / Pr.Eng.) with Engineering Council of South Africa
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on water distribution and bulk supply systems. Stormwater Drainage Design would be advantages.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic modeling software, preferably EPANET,iDAS and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor supervision.
- Experience in design implementation and management of the construction phase will be a prerequisite.
